Founded by Gottlieb Duttweiler in 1958 in Courtepin, Canton of Fribourg, as a meat processing plant for Migros, the Micarna Group today comprises the Swiss-based companies Micarna SA, Mérat & Cie. AG, Favorit Geflügel AG, Rudolf Schär AG and Gabriel Fleury SA. The group also includes the German-based companies Stauss Geflügel GmbH and KM Seafood GmbH. Thanks to state-of-the-art production facilities and the highest standards in hygiene as well as product and occupational safety, the companies of the Micarna Group achieve top quality. The companies are consistently committed to species-appropriate husbandry and low-stress transport of the animals and ensure that the origin of every single product is fully traceable.
